Will Galaxy S25 Plus Cases Fit the Galaxy S26 Plus?

Many Samsung phones keep a familiar design across generations, and the Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S26 Plus are no exception. The two devices share nearly identical body dimensions and the same flat aluminum frame, which naturally leads many users to assume that an S25 Plus case should also fit the S26 Plus. But the short answer is no, not reliably.

In practice, phone case compatibility depends on more than overall size. Case manufacturers design their molds around precise frame geometry, button placement, and the structure of the rear camera housing.

When any of those elements change, even slightly, a case built for one device may no longer align correctly with another.

Galaxy S25 Plus vs Galaxy S26 Plus Size Comparison

SpecificationGalaxy S25 PlusGalaxy S26 Plus
Height158.4 mm158.4 mm
Width75.7 mm75.8 mm
Thickness7.3 mm7.3 mm
Weight190 g190 g

The width difference between the two models is only about 0.1 mm, which is effectively negligible. From a purely dimensional perspective, the outer frame of the S26 Plus closely matches the footprint of the S25 Plus.

Because of this, many cases designed for the S25 Plus may fit onto the S26 Plus frame. The phone will often slide into the case without resistance, and the sides may appear to line up normally.

The Real Fit Problem Is the Camera Module

The Galaxy S25 Plus uses three independent camera rings. Each lens rises separately from the back panel, and cases designed for the device typically include three circular openings positioned around those lenses.

The Galaxy S26 Plus uses a pill-shaped camera island, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, that surrounds the three lenses instead of mounting them directly on the back panel as the Galaxy S25 Plus does.

When the shape of the camera housing changes, the opening on an older case may no longer match the new geometry. In practical terms, an S25 Plus case used on an S26 Plus can lead to several alignment problems:

  • Uneven spacing around the camera lenses
  • Pressure against the edge of the camera housing
  • Flash cutouts that sit slightly off-center
  • A protective lip that sits lower than the camera lenses

In these situations, the phone may still fit inside the case, but the camera module does not sit properly within the opening.

Button and Port Alignment

Aside from the camera module, the two phones share a very similar frame layout.

Both models use a flat aluminum frame with the power button and volume keys placed along the right side of the device. The bottom edge contains the same USB-C port, speaker opening, and microphone positions.

Because these components align closely with the phone’s frame dimensions, most S25 Plus cases maintain proper button and port alignment on the S26 Plus. The molded button covers usually sit over the controls in roughly the same position, and the port openings remain usable.

This means that button placement and port access are not the main compatibility concern between these two devices.

What Not to Do When Modifying an Older Case

Some users attempt to modify an older phone case using tools like an X-Acto knife, scissors, or a rotary tool to make it fit a newer device. This often involves cutting the camera opening larger or trimming the edges around the camera housing.

While this may appear to solve the alignment issue, it usually weakens the structure of the case. Removing material around the camera cutout can reduce the rigidity of the back panel and eliminate the raised lip that protects the lenses.

Forcing the phone into a rigid case is also not recommended. Tight camera openings can place pressure on the camera housing or prevent the phone from seating properly inside the case frame.

Final Take

If a case is designed for the Galaxy S26 Plus, the camera opening will follow the new housing shape rather than the three separate lens rings used on the Galaxy S25 Plus. This allows the camera area to sit correctly inside the cutout without placing pressure on the housing.

A proper S26 Plus case will also maintain raised edges around both the camera and the display so the lenses and screen remain slightly elevated from flat surfaces.

For a proper fit and full protection, use a case designed specifically for the Galaxy S26 Plus.
